Also if youve been pulled about a bit it may be worth seeing an osteopath especially if youve been knocked out your body lies in funny positions when you don't have control of it and your jaw may not quite be in right place or your neck thatll affect it all too

Siebrie, this happened to me after having a wisdom tooth out. I was in so much pain even after 10 days. It turned out to be an infection and I was given antibiotics by my dentist which sorted the problem.

    :( Sounds ghastly, Siebrie.

I've had all four of my wisdoms out, one at a time at the dentist over the years, and never suffered like that. I think you might have an infection and should go back asap. The worst I suffered was a dull ache for about 3 days and a yellowish bruise on my jaw the one time (me being me, I hammed it up something rotten and kept telling people they should've seen the state of my opponent ;)).

Family are up today so we'll be kondo-ing fenceposts and various other projects around the allotment. I will also be kondo-ing three towels to Mum & Dad but, since I only bought them yesterday and they'll be gone in less than 24 hrs, I don't think I can really count them.

Masses of paper went through the shredder and into the recycling bin yesterday. Filing cabinet has had its annual clearout ready for tax return to be completed plus piles from the desk and other areas have been sorted through.

One desk drawer cleared out and random cables, 3D glasses and various other unidentified objects are ready to leave for recycling etc.

More office to be done today - another desk drawer which is crammed full of stuff that I know I'll find difficult to get rid of because of dear old Justin but I will deal with it as I'm desperate to change this huge desk for a much smaller one.

I was thinking yesterday that I've not made much progress despite Kondoing for a couple of years now, however when I consider how many piles were in here before and how jam packed and overloaded the bookshelves were, there has been an improvement over that time. Also, the reading pile was completely out of control whereas now it is all current items so I've managed to keep on top of it since I started to tackle it.

yes oceanspirit, thats the ticket, as long as what comes in is less than what is going out, then there is progress

I packed all my christmas presents last night, standing up at my ironing board. Used all hm cotton zipped bags and things I had bought over the past few years. It was a very nice way to remove stuff. While at it, I have bagged a lot of costume jewellery for the cs and re-covered the ironing board (leifheit) with padding and a cotton top, stored for three years. I took stuff to the tip yesterday, have another bag ready and have added to the cs trolley and I can physically see the empty space created via the large cavern under my bed

Gosh this KM is so engrossing, a very nice challenge. I must, really must keep on at the over-stuffed freezers, I dreamt about them last night. I cannot see me putting this house up for sale until early spring but I need to empty the small garage chest freezer by then and just have enough left in the big upright freezer. Plans are to get removals co to first remove garage/workshop/garden stuff to new house before I even start to pack this house. Dreams eh!! I haven`t seen a house yet. I tell a lie, the area is wrong

I looked further afield, only online as I am not going to disturb vendors unless I am certain enough. Small market town but very touristy, with a waitrose. Several suitable properties there but very much more expensive and surrounded by houses, people and traffic, I could not pop out on ,my bike or cycle down to the nature reserves. My throat sticks in my stomach at the thought, I don`t care for shopping or making small talk with strangers in waitrose for my entertainment. Yes I have looked from outside the box and feel very settled now in what I am looking for, just 2 miles away. I need to keep on with KM because of the big possibility of me being in less square footage
  • Oceanspirit, I wish I'd taken some photos of the charity bags and tip run collections I've done, just so I could remind myself of how much I've cleared.

In the same way that I was able to ignore the clutter around me most of the time, we quickly adapt to change and so I have almost forgotten what my home used to look like - piles of stuff on top of the bookcase and c-o-d, carrier bags of papers, craft stuff and so on. I don't want to be reminded of it, but occasionally I think it would be good to have a 'before' and 'after' photo to give me a boost!

You are doing so well, you've obviously had some traumatic things in your life. Freeing the ashes is a brilliant thing to do. I think if the handbag makes you feel happy, because you survived, then keep it, scars and all. It doesn't sound as if that's the case though, so I would let it go.
    Thats true, and good advice.
On difficult days, which we all have sometimes, I feel better just not sitting and looking at piles of clutter. The mental effect of having less stuff around is incredible, and I really wish I had learned this earlier in life - I feel free to do things rather than think about them, and that's quite a change. Keep going!
Thats my aim! I'm not there yet (and things just reversed yesterday, as lots of inherited gubbins that I *wanted* made their way into my home), but it will be, soon enough.

On Thursday I (with permission) I kondoed a great pile of newspapers, magazines and post at elderly mother's home. Today when I visited she handed me Thursday and Friday's newspapers and a couple of brochures for the re-cycling, great progress:j:j
My mum always seemed like she had great organisational skills, but she didn't - in the photos, in the finance papers, and in the genealogy papers, all of which are down to me to sort, everything is all over the place - dates, types, they're everywhere. Plus food stored all over the house, some of it wildly out of date, and impossible to actually KM because of it all. I still don't have all the genealogy papers here, but I have a lot. It'll do! Working on it today.

Taking photos of what I was letting go was essential - whether it was for "I might need it" or "I like it but I'll never need it", it really helped :o

A bag of glassware went off to the recycling bin this morning (not nice enough for CS), along with some outgrown school uniform.

I then Kondoed my ornaments and washed the keepers. Only a few things to go, but it all helps, if I move next year.

I'm listening to the "Spark Joy" book. Some repetition, but it goes into her philosophy in a bit more detail, so it's v interesting.

    Happy Sunday everyone.

So two bags gone to the tip :-) while my children were playing at grandma and grandads.i had them in the car so while they were playing outside with grandads drone i popped to recycling centre . think thats the best way for me to clear stuff have it in the car and when he opportunity presents itself go for it.

So we are visiting my mum today she lives over an hour away so it has to be planned visits.ive been working on the boys room since august before finding marie kondo and before i was efficient grabbing the odd hour when they see their nanny and grandad who are just round the city .the boy says on the way to my mums today are you just dropping us off for a little bit? I said no i am staying why? He says you NEED to drop us off coz you NEED to go home and tidy my room.i had great delight in telling him that i had FINISHED his room and it was now his responsibility to keep it tidy so he has space to play with all his toys!! :-)
