Parking Eye Fine

Options
Hello

Damm just got a PCN for £100 reduced to £60 if i pay quick.

Now the annoying thing is i actually did pay the car park fees that day.

It's one of those systems where you have top input your car reg number to make the payment. As it is my wife's car I had to actually go back to the car note the licence plate number and then go back to the machine to make the £3.00 payment.

I must have still managed to put in one wrong digit. Which is frustrating.

I know the exact machine i paid, I know the time frame and i did pay. They could check and see a very similiar reg. number paid at that machine at that time...but will they?

Now, sadly, i have already emailed them telling them all this as i wanted to see if they could check their records and clear this up. But i guess i have admitted liability?

I have nothing to hide and have been 100% honest with them. Did i do the wrong thing?

Any chance of me not paying this unfair fine? I must i bight the bullet and just pay the dammed thing?

I think these licence plate methods of payment are a pain in the ***. if you type in one wrong digit you are fined. :(

Any advice would be welcome.

Thank you
Mark

its not a "fine" , its an invoice

whoever told you it is a legal "fine" is a fool

the correct methods of dealing with this are in the NEWBIES sticky thread

these machines are well knownt to be not fit for purpose , becasue people can and do put in the incorrect VRM , so its a well planned sc@m

if you paid , and have proof of purchase (the ticket) , then you can appeal and may even win in court

in future, do not be so hasty and follow the advice in that NEWBIES READ THIS FIRST sticky thread

mistakes happen, it is what it is , so maybe its not the drivers fault but the company`s fault for not checking the VRM being put in against the list of ANPR captures by their cameras , only allowing ones already verified to be used for payment

Hi -- suggest taking a photo of car+plate as parking Eye collects everything they have & send to POPLA as evidence. POPLA aren't worth much as they simply uphold 98% of what is sent, BUT, they do have a 7day comment window for your case. PLUS , sign into CAPITA's website (they are the pension company) and have purchased ParkingEye - tell them they have your companies pension & you can't understand why they would EVER purchase such a venomous outfit as ParkingEye that prey on busy shopper victims. My case was dropped 3days after writing to Capita who are re-thinking their ParkingEye venture. Ray

No they don't - on here we win around 98% of the time, at POPLA.
