Thanks Beanie - I'm very happy with it.

  • Another day gone in a flash

I managed to get some work done on the painting this morning despite the foul weather. Also put up almost all of the remaining Christmas decorations, just a couple of things left to do tomorrow.

We picked up the table and chairs this evening and they will be perfect for the Cottage. A coat of paint will be needed though.

Lunch was Carrot & Ginger Soup. Supper was Zesty Spring Fish. Both from the meal plan.

We've reassessed the wine situation based on our Christmas plans and realised that we'll need more than we thought. Fortunately Mr F's recent business trips have replenished his air miles so we've ordered another couple of cases.

So a few jobs ticked off but another list of chores awaits tomorrow :rotfl:

Hope everyone's had a good day

  • I thought I'd try a little money making to redress the cost of Christmas so I relisted 7 Ebay items and 2 FB items this morning plus added 3 further items to FB. 2 of these have sold already :T Although not for very much :o It all helps.

I got a little more work done on the painting so I'm on track to finish in good time. Also got the last of the decorations up so the boxes can go back in the barn tomorrow and the place will look a bit tidier.

We had leftover soup for lunch and Courgette Carbonara for supper both from the meal plan.

Caught up on some phone calls/emails:
    • I've booked FDawg in for his annual checkup and treatments. No additional cost as I have a monthly pay plan for him
    • Contacted the plumber about my last invoice - I think I'm being charged for a part which wasn't used. Someone should get back to me tomorrow
    • Had to call HMRC as Mr F's tax for the last financial year has still not been calculated. Found out that they have moved him to self assessment without telling us  They are sending out the forms but they will take two weeks to get to us  They have given us an extension to the deadline (January) but couldn't tell us how long an extension :mad::mad:
    • I sent measurements to the gate company so they can provide a quote.

So a mixed bag of a day. Hump Day tomorrow though :)

    Night, night.

I think it is 3 months from notification, so early March. I can recommend posting a thread on cutting tax should you need any assistance. Do they have your new address? I am not asking if you have told them, but have they logged it on his account. He (or you on his behalf) should be able to do it online if you have the UTR or via the personal tax account. Please be sure to check the information they enter automatically very carefully. If they get it wrong & you accept it YOU are responsible.

If you do post on cutting tax I will probably see it as I do tend to follow it & know whose advice is to be absolutely trusted (most posters) & whose isn't. There have been a couple recently that have posted if you are paid in cash you don't need to pay tax. They wish!

Mucho thanks for the advice BM. The new address is definitely on the system as we've had about 20 different tax code notifications this year  Will pop over to cutting tax and take a look.
