Thanks BeanieSounds like a great source of social history that you have in those boxes, Fortune!

Some of it is interesting Greent but only really because of the family connection and there's an overwhelming amount of it. I don't think it would be interesting to anyone else.

... or not! Mr F decided to experience the vagaries of public transport today and went into London on the train. It was not a success. His outbound journey was delayed because someone had stolen the cable from the train tracks  And his homebound journey was delayed because there were trespassers on the line  What is wrong with people
My day was far more relaxed. I cleaned some of the house as planned, made Meatball Stroganoff with Tagliatelle for supper and even managed to finish some writing for the next further away Writers' Group meeting.
The Stroganoff nearly didn't happen because I'd forgotten to include meatballs in this week's grocery shopI did get an inexplicable extra pack of sausages though so I just took the skins off those and made meatballs from the filling
The piece for the Writers' Group is a poem. Not my forte but I'm trying to stretch myself and it seems I've written something in Free Verse  Perhaps I am a real poet and I do not know it :rotfl:
Tomorrow I have a fun girly day out planned which I'm really looking forward to. Let's hope it doesn't thunder.

It sounds like you're nearly there with the annex
and great result on ebay. I wonder if a museum (perhaps local to where Mr F's family lived) would be interested in any of the paperwork - I envisage the bill being blown up and printed as a background on a display board sort of thing!

A lovely girly day out was had
I know where all the best charity shops are now and got to visit one in particular that I'd been hoping to visit for a while. A couple of things were found for the annex too and I got the opportunity to make a small person very happy with a chance find - made my day
So nice to spend time with friends.
There's been a torrential downpour here this morning but it only lasted for half an hour or so. We managed to delay taking FDawg out until the worse was over. It won't have helped the blackbird fledgings. They left the nest yesterday and took cover in the shrubs in the courtyard. Sadly the jackdaws have already found two of them
Farmer Giles has been round this morning. We have agreed to cows in the bottom field on the basis that, if it doesn't suit us, they can be moved out quickly. In return we'll get our top field cut and Mr F can borrow a trailer for picking up a plough he's interested in  It's only for decorative purposes. Mr F's father used to work for the company that produced them.
I had intended to do some cleaning in the annex today but it is dark and wet so I'm going to shuffle my chores around and spend the day Baying instead.
Have a good Friday all.
