It never rains...
Yesterday was a very productive day. I got some chores done, put up almost all of the Christmas decorations and iced the Christmas cake. So far so good. We had pittas for lunch filled with salad, chipotle mayonnaise and chicken (Mr F) or prawns (moi). Supper was Sprout & Chorizo Carbonara. In the evening I noticed that my shin was feeling a little sore and I wondered when I'd bumped it. This morning I can't walk 😲 I think I must have torn a muscle. I woke up several times in the night with the pain and, in the end, got up at 4 am so as not to disturb Mr F any further. Fortunately we have some stronger over the counter painkillers and anti-inflammatories in the house. Mr F is going to fetch me the walking stick he uses for hikes so I can get around a little easier. Which makes me feel a bit ridiculous but I'm going to struggle without it. If it is a muscle tear it should calm down soon. Fingers crossed.
So, I have:- called the hairdresser to cancel my appointment this morning
- got some soup out of the freezer for lunch
- mentally cancelled any chores that can wait
- resigned myself to a day of doing nothing.
Very frustrating as there are things I need/want to do but there you go. I'll do what I can - maybe catch up on some paperwork.
Hope there isn't a third thing to look forward to 😟

Oh dear Fortune! So sorry to hear about both your hair and your leg
No helpful tips on either I'm afraid (I've cut my own hair for years). Hope you can take the opportunity to relax and watch a few festive films or something today xx

Back on my feet...
well sort of. I've had a couple of days of sleeping a lot (side effect of the pain killers) and not getting much done. However, today I've managed with just some ibruprof£n gel and have been a bit more mobile.
FDawg developed a limp at exactly the same time as I did. I seriously thought he was mocking me 😂 But no, he had done himself an injury too somehow. Fortunately he made a miraculous recovery today as he was destined for the vet otherwise.
I finally opened my new art lamp today. It's been sitting in the box waiting for me to get round to it for a week. It's huge! Much bigger than I imagined. I've managed to position it in the corner of the room so that it isn't quite so noticeable. At least I'll be able to see to paint now 😆 Good job too as I've several Christmas presents to make.
The new duvet arrived but we'll take a look at that tomorrow as I think I've pushed my luck today already leg wise.
The wireless broadband man came out today to instal the receiver so we now have fast broadband 😁 Mr F is over the moon and I can see the difference in service already.
We've been eating out of the freezer this past few days but tonight's supper was a red onion, sprout and stilton pizza with sweet potato fries. Much nicer than it sounds - honest 😆
I still have a few christmas decoration to put up and a couple of presents to wrap. My priority this weekend is to make presents for the neighbours. It's usually gin but I got a bit behind on making the gins this year so I'm intending to do some slate paintings for some. At least I'll have plenty of light to see by 😆
Hope everyone is well

Isn't a decent internet connection fantastic. I have 78 "whatever" but when I go to my friends he has only 2 I mean 2 & he is trying to run a business with this. It seems the best he can get there is only 12, no explanation for only 2 though (we, well I have asked), . It is no wonder things keep going titsup. You press something nothing happens for ages so you think you didn't do it & press again. I have very little patience with inanimate objects (no problem with peoples general lapses) but 15 minutes in his office is likely to keep every one at bay for a while.

Ooh, excellent broadband Fortune! Ours is better out here in the middle of nowhere than it was in the city, but this year I confess it could have been better with all the video calling I've been doing. It's not held up too badly considering though!
Glad you're back on your feet, poor old FDawg joining you with a limp though, oh dear! Xx6 -

Yes - there has been much excitement from Mr F. I'm reserving judgement as there have been a few blips this morning and I'm not sure I'm seeing anything happening much faster. We will see.

Hopalong Fortune
I'm still hopping along. Although I am managing without any pain relief today so far. I've got my chores done at least so am feeling a little less behind.
FDawg seems to be back to normal so that's good. He's off to the groomers tomorrow for a wash and brush up (don't say anything but he's a bit whiffy 🤫). We bath him outside in the warmer months but take him to the groomers when it gets a bit too cold for that. He's not a 'roller' so should stay fragrant for Christmas 🌹
We had tuna fajitas for lunch using tuna steaks from the freezer and this seasoning mix. Supper is planned to be Sausage & Squash Bake.
Lots of expected parcels have turned up today and one unexpected. Some friends sent us Christmas tree shaped brownies. What a lovely surprise. They're delicious too 😋 It's so nice when you receive a surprise in the post. I must remember to send more parcels to my friends and family next year just to make them smile.
We opened the new quilt and put it on the bed. It's thinner than I expected and heavier but I had a little sneak under it this morning and it feels nice and cosy yet cool at the same time 🤔 It drapes over the body quite well too. I'll let you know the outcome of the sleep test tomorrow 😆
I think I'm going to be diving under that new quilt quite soon tonight. I'm exhausted today - I think being in pain is taking it out of me. Supper to make first though.
Have a great evening all
