It's raining, it's pouring
The weather forecasters were right! We have light rain here this morning. I'm quite pleased, the garden certainly needs a long drink and it's cooler so I can get on with the ironing this afternoon.
Yesterday, I spent two early hours in the garden before it got too hot. I earthed up the new potatoes and weeded a quarter of the big flower bed. Also removed some larger asters which are on a takeover mission.
I spent the whole afternoon painting which was bliss. Four slates which I'm turning into chalk boards (photo to follow).
I'm over budget on the grocery shop again. Not by much this time and I did add some occasional purchases like lip balm so I can live with that. I think I might need to up the budget though.
Lunch was Halloumi & Mushroom Burgers to use up the remaining halloumi. Supper was Super-Quick Fish Curry to which I added some frozen green beans and peas to up the veg content and bulk it up a bit.
Right, FDawg is asking for a walk. It doesn't bother him that's it raining. He can help me do a quick snail check in the veg garden.
Happy Hump Day all.

Here are the chalk boards I'm working on. I'm pleased with them except the snail and lettuce which I think are a bit bright. It's the blue ink - it makes everything look neon. I need to order some jute twine now to string them. Let me know your favourite so I can get a sense for what might sell.

The hare is definitely my favourite. How big are they out of interest?4

Second the hare. Love the way they take advantage of the pattern in the slate, seem to make them more real somehow. If it's not adding up, compound it!4
