NCP Parking Ticket, Not Parked in bays

Hello,
At a well known Tube Station car park in London, a parking ticket was issued for 'not parking within a designated parking bay' even though there was no mention of this on the ticket machine, and on previous occasions marshalls have helped cars park on spaces next to designated parking bays so as to allow more cars to fit in. When all of this space is exhausted a 'car park full' sign and traffic cone is put outside to stop more cars entering. This was the only occasion a parking ticket was issued despite doing it so many times before, there was no Marshall and no cone. Should I appeal? Thanks

Everyone is politely asked to read the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread.
Had you done so you would have seen the advice throughout never reveal who was driving.
Edit your post to remove details of who was driving
Then read up on how and when to appeal this0 -
I did read the newbies FAQ before posting which is where I found out how long to wait to appeal etc, have edited thread, thanks!0

It would appear that there was a sensible helpful car park attendant on site who is either on holiday, left, or been sacked for helping people instead of letting them fall into the scammers traps.
Do as Quentin says and read up on the scam that is private parking in the newbies thread, but you should be looking for signage at the site especially looking for signs talking about bye-laws which may apply to railway car parks.
PPC's cannot enforce bye-law fines.
You certainly should not be paying this, and NCP are not particularly litigious, out of 40k pcn's issued this year they have been to court 6 times.0 -
Thanks fisherjim, that's really helped. I should just add though there was an attendant number on the ticket that was issued, and this was issued about an hour and a half after the car was parked there. There was definitely no attendant at the original time.0

Parking is a money making game, all these loathsome PPC's are after is maximum profit.
My wife works for the NHS she pays via deductions for parking which is over subscribed.
They had a very helpful old gent as a car park attendant, he would help people find a space, let them double park, phone them to move their cars when others needed to get out, and even help with their bags.
The scummy PPC told him he wasn't there to be helpful, and to issue as many pcn's as possible as they weren't making enough money.
He handed in his notice, maybe that's what's happened here, but don't dwell on that it's not going to help.0 -
I thought as much it's just for profit, definitely not paying it now! Thank you so much! I'm not local to that tube station, but on the last visit there about 5 months ago, cars were still parked outside of bays and this wasn't an issue then, nor was it the previous 20 visits, just on this one occasion! They obviously decided to start trying to make more money for no reason, thank you so much for all the info!0
