Babs - hopefully you'll find fresh stuff lasts longer than you expect. I'm always surprised how long the veg lasts. Bread freezes well, and my last milk lasted me over 2 weeks and it wasn't the filtered stuff. Frozen or tinned fruit and veg can tide you over for a day or so, but I find I rarely need is and I shop very infrequently as I hate it.

Wrexham (wherever that is, I got it muddled with Hexham lol)

It's North Wales, not that far from me (in a car) and for the distance from you really not interesting enough to be worth the journey! Chester is much the same distance and a lot prettier and has a lot of interesting historical bits :)

Hester, believe me, when you retire, using your bus pass will be the least of the exciting adventures waiting for you.

Babs. A glimpse of carpet. Now that IS exciting. Small beginnings, honey, small beginnings. Build on that glimpse and it will soon become an acre, in a manner of speaking.

  • I hope you are taking care of yourself fuddle and that you fee l better soon.

Well so far today I've done a boat clean, cooked a batch of meals for CHS for next week as he is on the late shift and doesn't finish until 10.
I've cleaned our boat through and stripped the bed and remade it.

I still have two pairs of trousers to take up and a big box of sloes to !!!!! and a gammon to roast.

After that it's back to the crochet.

I have a bus pass but most of the time I still pay the fare as I am still working. I will use it more when I retire.

Is that because you travel before 9.30am?

Cranky, My first job was in offices above the Grosvenor precinct in Chester :)

Back home after visit to parents, via Halfords for a replacement tyre (puncture, not repairable :()
Washing done and hung out, coffee drunk, flowers arranged in vase. Catching up with Old Style threads and relaxing. Haven't a clue what we'll have for tea though!

Hester I feel exhausted just reading about your day :rotfl:

Monna, my in-laws don't drive but see car journeys as a big adventure. MIL provides us with drinks and sweets for our journey home from her, all of 50 miles! I do love a flask though and always carry emergency chocolate, just in case :D
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
  • Carlislelass, no, it's a personal choice, whilst I can pay I will.
The gammon is cooking and the first pair of trousers is nearly done, I may leave the other pair until tomorrow as sewing with black thread on black fabric is hard on the eyes.

Hester What were you going to do with the sloes? I've racked my brains but can't think of anything that wouldn't get past the swear filter :D

Think of a word starting with p and rhyming with brick. ;)
    "This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
    Preemie hats - 2.
  • I have to pierce each Sloe with a needle to break the skin, it would be easier to freeze them as it has the same effect, it breaks the skin, but I don't have room in my very tiny freezer.
Elona is correct the word I used does rhyme with brick.
