Companies that buy your house

Due to unforeseen circumstances ( not financial) I need to sell my property quickly. I was going to contact a company that buy your house. I am aware that they offer about 30% less of the market value and can sometimes drop the price again when due to sign contracts. I'm not looking to sell due to financial reasons and if they tried to drop the price again then I would look at pulling out. Does anyone have any further advice or experience of using one of these companies? Were there any other fees to pay, was the company you used a good company to use, etc. Would I be charged a fee if I pulled out? Many thanks

Why don't you just contact a local estate agent and ask them to sell it cheaply and quickly?
I guess you could contact the type of company you mention at the same time - for comparison. (And I think you will decide to go with the estate agent!!!) And it's best not to sign anything without getting advice from a solicitor.0 -

If money is no object, why not simply put your house on the market in the conventional way, well below market value and sell to e.g. a cash buyer developer?0 -
Search the forum. Regular question. Ought to be a sticky.....0

That. Price it accordingly, explain to the EA you want a very quick no chain sale. Get them to ring round their lists, they may know someone who can move quickly with no chain. Developers, buy to let prospectors, etc.
The We Buy Any House types seem to start ultra low then have lots of reasons why they need to go lower still..0 -

Why are you recommending 'rent to rent' schemes? They're generally a very bad idea.
Anyway, the OP wants to sell their property, not rent it out.0 -
There will be advice on that website about selling as well.0
