In answer to your question, I imagine the effect would be minimal unless you have been making lots of recent applications for credit and the one extra hard search pushed you into the 'looking desperate for credit' category.

Well maintained mobile contracts add to your credit history and can help show that you handle credit appropriately. It depends which network or supplier you use, as to which CRA they report to.

They've got £5 tariffs for broadband customers and non-customers, though broadband customers are currently offered twice the data.
