Anyone know of a free video converter to take .vob files and convert to Quicktime (.mov)? I have tried several so called 'free' ones on the net but they all seem to convert only the first few minutes, converting the whole 20 or so mins requires a paid version...

Hi, I keep on posting that AVS4U has a full suite of progs that once purchased are updated for life. Terrific functionality for audio, video pic etc.
HOWEVER parts of the suite are available for free download -I don't know if those versions have limitations but worth a try.
The video convert bit seems to cover a very wide range of formats and is very good quality.
I have purchased the full suite a few years ago and struggle to find fault with it!0 -
Ffmpeg seems able to convert (almost) any audio/video file. It's totally free, so no features are disabled.
There are a lot of parameters you can specify if you need to change anything about the file conversion... but the documentation is long!

I just use Zamzar.0

This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks. For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.0 -
You can actually rename a .vob to .mpg and most decent players like VLC will respect it. This is because a VOB file is actually an MPEG2 stream.0
