How long will balance transfer to Barclaycard take?

Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to answer this for me.

If I apply and open a Barclaycard No Fee Platinum credit card, how long will it take to transfer the balance across? I want to transfer the balance from my American Express card and obviously as it's a charge card not a cc, I need to clear the balance in full - it's no use to me if the balance is transferred after I've cleared it. (For the record, I bought a kitchen, I have the cash should I need to clear it, but would prefer to BT it).

Any thoughts much appreciated (I've never transferred a balance before).

As above, although I'd probably stipulate 5 working days.

Thanks both. On that advice I tried to set it up and entered the Amex details... it turns out it considers this a 'debit card' (presumably as it's not credit), so I'm not going to be able to do this anyway. Back to plan A.

If I recall correctly, last year we managed to balance transfer from Amex charge cards to Tesco, Nationwide and Halifax, and I think also Sainsburys.
