Samsung RL33SBNS fridge freezer switching off

Hello everyone,
My first post! I have a Samsung RL33SBNS fridge freezer which is almost 8 years old. It has in the last couple of days started to switch itself off. We can turn this back on again but it keeps switching off and needs a constant eye on it to stop the food from defrosting/being ruined in this heat.
I know that calling out an engineer can cost a lot or the other alternative is to get a new fridge freezer. But I just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this before going down the more expensive routes!
Thank you

Have a look at this thread..................

I would also pull the fridge away from the wall turn if off & unplug it.
Then give a very good clean with a brush & a vacuum & then see what happens.
One of the major causes of refrigeration problems is lack of cleaning of the condenser fins etc.
The cost of an engineer visit to an 8 year old appliance is not going to be very cost effective I am afraid.

How does it switch itself off and how do you switch it back on? Serious question.
Frivolous comment - I had visions of a hand (of bananas?) sneaking out the door, reaching round the back and flicking off the switch on the socket.0 -

Lol! Nothing so exiciting..
The lights at the top which shows which level of cooling (i.e. Low to high) are all off. To switch back on we have to hold then on/off button and wait for the lights to come back on again.0 -
I had this happen with my samsung FF(a lot older) SR-L3928B
I got an enginner out and they tried everything(all the usual stuff and main circuit boards) in the end gave up and refunded the call out fee as they could not fix it or isolate any fault which was very nice of them.
I got the full wiring diagrams and through a bit of deduction worked out it might be the display board as that is passive and just send signals to the main board when buttons are pressed.
this board is just a few switches and a display of temps etc.
once disconected it has worked fine since, just no display.
looking at your manual

and mine

it looks very similar, on page 2 of the pdf 16 of the manual the bit I disconected is the display pcb from the main circuit board.
usual warning apply if going under the display cover where the boards are.
There is real electricity so be carefull.
the reason I disconected rather than replace was £60 saved on the part. now I think it is no longer available.
this service diagram shows you how to access the part D1-4.
