Aw SPEKY you are so sweet. We love you too, as well as your lovely gran who sounds a real sweetheart. x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Speky - there's lots of love around this board, and you're a part of it.
I've been out and cut the bloomin' grass again. I know I cut it late last week so it's growing really fast. As it's only been dry for two non-consecutive days since then it's still a damp so looks mangled. I normally let the cuttings fall on the grass to help feed it but I think it's had enough feeding - I've raked it all up.
Now I'm lathered. Can't win.

Good evening everyone,
I managed to accidently log myself out of MSE and being a numpty couldn't work out why I couldn't post or give thanks:o.
I felt a bit down this morning as it was my elder son's graduation in Cardiff today and I wasn't fit enough to go:mad:, but I got over myself and saw his moment of glory on the live stream:D. His partner, brother and Dad were all there so he wasn't alone and I'm especially proud as he won a year prize (we didn't know he was getting) for a piece of work he did to predict football results that is now being developed by the World Health Organisation to help predict infectious disease outbreaks!
I spent the afternoon in the garden with my nephew enjoying the sunshine, he had popped round help me dismantle my hose housing to check for a wasp's nest . It's been hosed out and sprayed with nest destroyer so fingers crossed! It's been scorching here (27C) so my nephew and I sat outside in the shade putting the world to rights while he scoffed ice cream cones and worked his way through my fruit bowl. He's 18, skinny as rake, 6ft 3 and perpetually hungry so I'm glad I don't have to feed him all the time.
For the first time in the 26 years I've been living here there was a hedgehog in my garden, a large one looking very cute as they do but moving at a fair rate of knots when it realised it had been spotted. I did think my slug/snail population had gone down a bit so it's very welcome to visit as much as it likes.0 -
Hi,late one from me today.First chance I've had to look at the laptop so far today.Up early helping DGD get ready for school and dogwalking before it got too hot.DGs had a lazy start to the day and I couldnt persuade him out of PJs for ages.I made another picnic to take to the park for lunchtime and we didnt get back until 4,15 when he fell asleep on the sofa.I let him have half an hour but had to put up with him crying and being grumpy then when I woke him :DHe had a whale of a time though, and latched on to some older children there with their Grandma. We even ended up at the cafe with them and they were really good with him.
Speky, hope your Gran keeps happy & healthy for as long as possible.I enjoy hearing about her.I too had a Gran who had a very positive influence on my life, which is why I chose to be 'Gran' to my grandchildren and hope I can have the same effect on them.
Tru, thanks Ly1a is ok really,I just need my wits about me when we're outFor such a big dog she is a nervous wuss, but happy enough when she's at home.
Lainey yes thats true about early experiences they can have such a detrimental effect on the poor dogs
I put the shepherds pie I prepped yesterday into the freezer this morning, couldn't face the thought when its so warm- we just had a salad once DGS went home. Its there for another day
Take care all and hope you all sleep well xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
