Morning everyone,
Speky hugs re your Gran, you obviously adore her and she you.
TRU sorry that the doggy day care was so disappointing, years ago when my old lab was a young dog, just a few months old, she was driven away from me by a pack of dogs at a local park. The owners were blissfully unaware of what their dogs were doing as too busy chatting  and I had to chase after her, finally caught up and she was literally shaking with fearDespite a lot of attempts to re-socialise her she has never been happy in the company of a large group of dogs since, slightly better if there is just one other dog. Just goes to show how deeply ingrained these early anxieties can be.
Overcast here at the moment, our really hot day is meant to be tomorrow which is fine by me as have Pilates this morning, my last before the instructor breaks up for summer holidays. It's definitely made a difference to my overall strength and flexibility so will continue with it during the break.
Other than that not loads planned, there is some cold gammon for tea so just need to do veggies to go with with fruit for dessert.
Thinking of you Judi x
Have a good day folks.0 -
Morning all. Glorious day here which is a rare thing indeed! Had a long lie which I was in need of as my sleeping pattern has gone all squiffy again.
WM on and I'm hoping to get it on again. Nothing major needing washed but will take advantage of the weather and freshen up dog bedding, towels etc.
Had forgotten I'd been asked to swap shifts at work this week so I'm no longer working today which has made me very happy. Also off to pick up a free dinner set this morning which has made my smile bigger
Ordered fabric yesterday so I can get making for the craft fair on Saturday but realise it's unlikely to be here in time so will dig through my fabric stash later and see what I can rustle up. Just as well I work well under pressure haha.
Hope everyone has a good day, or as good as can be expected. Hugs to those who need them. Judi hope you hear something soon!!Emma

Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, Judi I hope you get news soon. Anyone else who needs one, help yourself to a hug.
Yesterday was sweltering, it did help the atmosphere, I hate funerals in the rain, makes a bad day worse. Service was fitting and the reception afterwards was lovely. nice buffet and a lot of P's old comrades from the REME came back, so quite a big gathering, plenty of chat and laughs.
I was exhausted when we got home, the heat and emotion of the day, I put the fan on in the sitting room and we had a cup of tea and chilled for an hour.
We were asked to take doggy bags so we had enough with a couple of sandwiches each and some odd bits for a late supper. I have 2 pieces of cake in the fridge to have for afternoon tea today. B's eldest son is here till 4th August, once he goes we will hold a watching brief with the next door neighbours. I am hoping B will come with us to the coffee morning at the little chapel and start socialising in the village a bit.
Washer on with the towels, need to give the bathroom a wipe over and will shove the Dyson over the carpets, the bedroom will have to wait till next week, cannot be bothered.
Work in the garden goes on, we need to move the sentry box to its new home and then we can mark out where the base of the new shed is going to be, We will gain a couple of slabs so OH can sort out the path.
Yesterdays supper tonight, bacon fritatta and salad, its going to be hot again today. its up to 27c already, although there is a nice breeze.0 -
Good Morning all and <<hugs >> to those who are struggling and are in need of one.
Beautiful summers day here in Kent, and the garden is looking really nice (thanks to my chap Mick who looks after it for me ).
I had two nice things happen yesterday my youngest DD who has been having lots of problems with her Plantar Fasciitis in her feet (its now been classified as chronic by the specialist ) has got an appointment with the foot surgeon on the 14th of next month which we are both pleased with as she had been told it could take up to 3 months at least before she saw him.Sooner she gets her op. the better as she struggles to walk and drive at the moment.
The last night I had to nip across to the precinct to post a birthday card and I popped into the Mr Ts ,don't go there often as its normally just too expensive (its a small metro store )and found a nice lady who was reducing some taste the difference b'burgers.normal price £2.50 as they have caramelised red onion in (my favourite:)) reduced to 38p !!! for four.
Luckily I had my purse with me so snaffled them and when I got home decanted them individually to my freezer. They are quarter pounders so one, with new spuds, and salad will be more than enough for a meal for mefour meat based meals will work out around 50p each per meal now thats my bargain of the week
There were three packets, but I only took one as I don't often eat burgers and I left the others for the chap that was also there.
Spread the joy I think:):) made my day ,daft as it was
.
Today I have an day for window cleaning at DDs, my very tall DGS Henry will help, as he can get to the bits I can't reach (I'm 5'4" wet through)
He's a good boy though, and really helpful. The other two lads break up tomorrow so I have around 4 weeks of grandson sitting then we go away on holiday .
Hope you all have a good day and what a nice grandson you are Speky, may your Gran enjoy each day she has with you honey
take care all

Judi best wishes for Prodigals safe return. Just save the fatted calf!
I'm back at work in a REAL office. Rules and everything. Takes a bit of reacclimatising. But lovely.
Have a good day all. I'm probably not going to be around much for the next few weeks.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

:j:j Great news FBO!
Speky - so sad about your gran. Even though it's inevitable at least you have fair warning and can make the most of your time with her. Big hug.
I had a lazy start to the day. Woke early as usual and then dropped off again, unusually. I was still a little dopey at 11'ish but had to get up and out to the RM delivery office to collect a parcel. Then to the PO to post a wee packet to my DM. Didn't go to any other shops!
I'm now sitting inside with both front and back doors open doing some banking stuff on the PC. The washing machine is chugging away, I had to scrape around for things to wash as I only had one pair of trousers at first. There's really only a half load but it'll get out in the sunshine.
After ordering the two garden chairs on Friday I decided today that they needed a wee table to sit inbetween them. The matching table didn't have such good reviews so I've ordered one in JL clearance sale which is good enough. Perhaps I'll be able to sit the laptop on it and do some work in the sunshine, if we ever get any more that is. Rain is forecast for tomorrow, again! The chairs and table are plastic rattan so can be left outside though I have room in the big barn for them.
Think I've prepped enough for the interview, can't do much more really. The JD is two pages long, for a four hour a week role, though nothing in it is a worry. It'll come down to who else is being interviewed and how rubbish I am at being interviewed.
Driving back to the house today I was behind some tourists who were very very slow. Eventually, after five miles of being behind them on a single track road, they pulled over to let me past. Trouble is that they pulled over right in front of my house, blocking me from parking or getting the car into the barn. :rotfl::rotfl:
Right, time for some salady lunch. Happy days to everyone.0 -

He just needs to dig it out of his hiding place in the garden

Another busy day today; I need to give Sasha the once-over with her Furminator and pack her little suitcase, as she's being picked up later today.
However, I have a meet'n'greet visit with a Staffie on Friday, and I've just been informed that another Staffie, Bluebell, who stayed with us earlier in the year, wants to come back for another holiday - she was an absolute delight, so I'm really pleased about that.
Speky enjoy every minute that you can with your Gran; good-health vibes winging their way to her from Concrete Cow Country.
Judi hang on in there mate; no use to say try not to worry, I know. Hoping you hear some good news soon.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Aww we love you too Speky ...you are after all our token testosterone so you had better be careful menopausal women can be very dangerous :rotfl:
Interview went OK but I don't think I have got it. They have 72 applicants for 18 places and it seemed to me they were keen to have people who had done the first qualification with them. Not great vibes so I wont hold out much hope.0 -
speky I forgot to say best wishes for your Gran. Enjoy all the time you can with her, and write down all the recipes.
I'm wiped out. I'm only supposedly doing 5 hr days, but I left the house at 0630 and I'm just home. Lovely run in Kelvingrove Park first thing. Then shower at gym in town before starting at 10. Finished at 1600.
Overtime on days 1 & 2, but it wont cover the pay cut unfortunately. Never mind. Its the experience and the reference I really need.Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0
