Help with floor choice

Hi all

Just decorating a 2 bed flat and would like to go for engineered wood flooring but cant decide between the two, it will be in the living room and hallway. Walls are white just looking for something modern. Would the 3 planks version look "too much"?

Any opinions appreciated

Thanks

You're likely to get different preferences, but for me, without a doubt, it's the first one. The second is too dark and I don't like the different colour effect.

I think the first. Would fit with a period or conversion flat and the second with a modern purpose built or 'new built' flat

ground or first floor flat? Are you going to be living in it or renting it out? What are your neighbours like? Do you have kids or plan to whilst in that flat?

But to directly answer your question? The first one.

The first one looks very like what I have in my dining room. I'm pleased with it. I don't care for the second one.
  • The second looks like off cuts that have been stuck together

Like Landyandy I have something very like number 1 throughout my flat. Love it.

P.S. It's important to make sure you get a random lay.

The first one, but not if people are living bellow in another flat, as they are going to get driven nuts by the noise of people walking over their heads.

I would def go for the first one, the second one is too busy IMO and liabe to make the room looked crowded and cramped, unless it is absolutely enormous.

If you're on the ground floor, definitely the first one. The second one just looks too hectic.

If you're living above someone, I'd strongly urge you to consider something else like LVT (Karndean, Amtico, Moduleo etc...) as they look like wood but are significantly quieter. If you get an engineered wood floor and have someone living below you, expect complaints.

Agree - number one for me too.

As above, not just a consideration thing if above ground floor, it will prob be mentioned in your lease that you have to have carpet (obv not kitchen/bathroom).
