Swimming pool on patio - worried about the weight

I'm considering putting a 15' diameter above ground swimming pool on our patio - but I'm now starting to worry about the drains that run underneath and whether the weight of the pool might cause damage to the drains.

The pool will hold about 15 cubic metres of water distributed over about 16 square metres of patio so there will be just under 1 tonne weight per square metre.

Does anybody know whether I should be worried about this - or whether the drains are likely to run sufficiently far underground that the pool wouldn't be a problem.

Many thanks.

    Ill ask why ?

Would you use it enough to make it worthwhile ?
  • Looks like it's just rectangular paving slabs on top of the earth - no obvious foundation or concrete in between them.

Yes loads, we're very keen swimmers. We've just moved in to this house, but the one at the last house we were using most days until late November and again from late March.

Would you park a car on the patio? The pool is going to put more force down than most vehicles. Some patios would be ok with that, slabs on earth, doubtful.
Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.

So that'll be about a tenth of the pressure under my foot if I stand on the patio then.
