DPD and cosatto

Options
First post hoping for some help!
Our cosatto pushchair was faulty (still under 4 year guaranty)
Cosatto agreed to repair, DPD collected in the box that we were required to send it in. A signature was not required as the driver said it wasn't needed. Driver took box he didn't put a label on the box.
3 days later we call cosatto to confirm they have pushchair, they advise they do but it was not in box so is now damp! Basically told we are liars and sent the pushchair in a bag.... ( cosatto said DPD would not accept the pushchair without a box!) Also told we should have signed something and he would have put label on the box in front of us!
We have cctv (council) down our road and have been asked for images (I am happy to do this but the council have said it will be a long process to get the images) so I am now having to borrow a pushchair until then.
Is there any advise that any one can give on anything more I can do in the mean time?
Thanks in advance!

Ask them to produce the signature.'when that can't it put the rest of their account into doubt.

Ask them for the correspondence with dpd that states it was sent in a bag.

I wonder if maybe the drivers scanner wasn't working for some reason, only saying because I deal with DPD a lot and their scanners are not only geo linked but they can't go on to the next deliver/collection until the previous job on the scanner has been complete and either obtained a signature or cancelled off their scanner as a failed delivery/collection (although I don't know what reason codes they have for this). They are also one of the couriers who do attach labels on collection whereas some don't.

They are timed so precisely that sometimes our driver arrives a few minutes early or if we have multiple collections and deliveries together he has to wait and scan each one in their allotted time because he can't override it. He's even given me personal parcels in work previously but has still had to park outside my house at the allotted time and scan the label (which I take off the parcel for him) and sign for me.
  • Fosterdog....we Just missed the driver and caught him at the end of the road, so he said I can't return as have cleared the job off. but then changed his mind and came back for collection. So I guess as he cleared the job there was nothing to sign and no label to print. But obviously we didn't know a signature was required or label was supposed to be printed until I spoke to cosatto. I will request to see the signature although my gut feeling is that he would have signed for it himself!!
