I could fair eat a burger!

The trouble I have is there's too much food/choice in the world and for 1001 reasons it's easy to not buy something you like for many years. I can't remember the last time I bought burgers for home (maybe 20 years), yet here I am now on about my 3rd/4th box of 4 1/4pounders in the last two months or so :)

I just "forget" the things I truly enjoy ....

And/or it's because I do "discover & then binge eat" nice things :)

Having a change, if it's tasty, can lead me to repeat buying the same thing for X months, then not bothering again for 3-5 years.

But all these burgers are "something else"....really loving them :)

Currently tucking into one of the best taste sensations I've had since .... the other day when I had the same.

OMG these lamb/mint burgers are absolutely fabulous. I popped to L1dl to get some cheese topped rolls. I dolloped jalapeno relish on top.

Nom nom nom is all I can say!
Did you say that those burgers were from Aldi? because lamb is my absolute favourite meat and I have just been asked by my neighbour to go to Aldi and get a couple of things for her in the morning as she hasn't been very well. If that's where you got them I think I will get some, I fancy them with chips, mushrooms, onion rings and peas for dinner tomorrow :).

I keep fancying and buying things that others on this thread eat. I hadn't had crumpets for years until everyone on here was talking about them, and now I eat loads of them :D

Thank SG, I took your advice and had just that, just enough and not leaving me bloated
Glad it worked I think that it's an easily digestible meal and good for you too so a win, win in my book :D
.... I newly discovered my favourite choccies when I went into the shop earlier! They'd hidden them by moving them to a shelf, higher up, with sweeties I'd not normally browse AND left them in their brown supplier cardboard box. No wonder I never spotted them after I thought they'd stopped selling them :) Guess who has some choccies in the cupboard :)
So pleased that your choccie supply has been restored :T

I'm in exactly the same boat Holly! I have started eating chocolate spread on toast and cheese on digestives thanks to PN and Caronc :rotfl:

Good evening all. A late one from me today as I have been at work. I bought a sandwich to take in with me as I didn't get round to taking one out of the freezer in time (remembered at 11am and I started work at 1pm and was going to eat as soon as I got there), but there had been a managers meeting and loads of sandwiches had been bought for it. There were loads left so I got a chicken, bacon and stuffing sandwich, a packet of crisps and a can of Sprite for free :money: I stashed my sandwich in the fridge with a note on it that it was mine and that's tomorrows lunch sorted :)

Tea tonight was a red thai chicken curry that I made a while back and froze. I have been doing my menu plan and online shop for August this evening. I used Sainsbury's again as I have been very impressed with their products and prices and I had a £10 off voucher so the whole shop came o £113 for the month including meat, lunch and snack stuff, washing powder, dishwasher tablets and dog and cat food. I will only need the odd fresh stuff top up during the month but hopefully not.

Caronc Did your son cook in the end? ;)

Yes, in the freezers; pack of 4 quarterpounders, £1.79 (from memory).

    Here's the box: https://s22.postimg.org/i96b07fwh/Burgers_For_Holly.jpg
So you know exactly which ones I mean.

There's nothing worse than getting into a shop and not being entirely sure :)

I can't see "mint" being clear/obvious on that, but they definitely taste minty - ah, there it is, on the front "with mint seasoning". Lamb and mutton when you look closely.

But, tasty ... very tasty ...and moist. And yummy.... and I want another one right now :)

  • Well, this turned out eventfully, if feline related.

Long hours yesterday (switched off working about 11), girl cat woke me up at 4am. Thanks...

Busy day, lovely ramen for lunch with new boss. Home for quiche, new potatoes and salad.

And have just retrieved boy cat from the marina.

His ego is injured, I am soaked (as is half the boat, who knew that cats shake water the way dogs do?!) and I suspect he will be "needy" all night.

Thanks, I've written down the details on the box, so I'm sure I'll get the right ones. I've had something similar in the past but not for years now. I hope my Aldi has got them in stock. If they haven't I'll just have to make do with beef quarter pounders.

As is typical with these discount retailers, they receive "mixed boxes" enabling the shop to have a selection of 2-4 varieties of one product in one box - and the varieties are put out in the same slots.... they are therefore in the freezer slot alongside beef burgers of the same brand (from memory those are called 100% beef quarterpounders - and there's a third option of beef/jalapeno quarterpounders). I struggled choosing between the lamb and beef/jalapeno to be honest... then chose the lamb this time.

Good morning. I'm awake ridiculously early when I'm not in work until 1pm typically!

It's looking pretty wet and windy outside and feels much cooler. I have a few houseworky jobs to do this morning then work from 1 until 8pm. Lunch will be the sandwich I bought yesterday and dinner is chilli and wedges as a change from rice.

Holly Good luck on your burger foraging! It's not something that I eat but I'm tempted after reading about how yummy they are from PN ;)

Well - now we know. Sorrees - apologising for laughing at the mental picture I now have in mind of him:rotfl:.

I'm going out for my tea tonight, so no idea what I'll be fed.

I've also no idea what I'll be eating today - I would have another lamb burger, but I feel I need to "save myself for my tea", so I'm struggling to work it out with such short notice really.

Have to see how the day pans out.
