I know something in there was a bit naughty and unnecessary, but what the heck. I am aware I over-ate, not in denial.
I have something that is a bit naughty and unnecessary every day, but life is too short to deprive yourself of everything you enjoy, As well as fueling the body I think that there should be some enjoyment in food as well.

This morning for breakfast I had beans on toast. I had frozen some baked beans to see how they came out texture wise, and defrosted them overnight in the fridge. They were fine. They seemed the same to me as they always are without being frozen, so I have learnt something.

I am being treated to lunch out today by a friend, so no main meal to cook :D. I am so looking forward to it. Where she is taking me they have a great menu with lots of choice, and we will have a dessert as well.

If I want anything else to eat during the evening I will have a crumpet or some toast, or even a slice of cheese on toast.

    Good morning everyone,
    I couldn't get logged on last night:mad:.

My approach to my diet is to mainly cook from scratch, watch my portion sizes and try not to snack. Apart from that I don't follow any "diet" or fad. Yes I have health problems that mean I need to watch my salt & caffiene but that's on medical advice rather than some guru's ponderings!

After torrential rain yesterday evening it's sunny again though much cooler.
Younger son made it up the road from Cardiff without hitting the horrible weather which was great as it is a long enough drive without battling rain & wind. I was going to make pasta & meatballs but as he had pasta salad at lunch time we had cumberland sausage, roasted veg and wedges instead.

Breakfast was the usual toast & fruit and lunch will be a sarnie probably cheese & pickle or egg mayo. I've no idea about tonight but I'm hoping my son will offer to cook whatever it is;).

Breakfast was 2 digestives, because they were right in front of me.

Lunch was 2 bananas, both at the stage where they're quite mushy and the skin's wafer thin..... because they weren't right in front of me and I kept forgetting/overlooking them as an option.

Later ....dunno. It'll either be more spuds/cheese ... or I might get another/better idea randomly :)
....They seemed the same to me as they always are without being frozen....
Yes, I'll lob them in the freezer as a last resort, but a lot of what I eat goes well with them so it's easy for me to use up a tin in any case. I open a tin and decant the remainder into a small lidded pot (sometimes 1/2 the tin, sometimes 2/3rds) .... after 4 days they'd be frozen, but they rarely make it that far as I can just go "Ah, beans on toast looks good to me" and that's a meal dealt with :)

Faraway Tinned toms and scrambled eggs on toast is my favourite quick and easy meal for dodgy tums. It's also been known to cure hangovers suffered by my offspring at various times!

Thank SG, I took your advice and had just that, just enough and not leaving me bloated

Still a bit drizzly this morning, but went into town anyway

Spot of luck, or not depending on viewpoint, Asda had YS Fray Bentos pies, the flattish tinned ones you can never get the lid off, there was a bit on CFO mk1 about the general deterioration of FB pies over the years, but in this case they were down to 50p, and just had to scoop up as a standby in case of desperate CBA to cook need. Needless to say not expecting much but at 50p who cares?

    No breakfast as usual
Lunch I aimed at something easy to digest given my tum still settling back to normal, so just tomato & lettuce sandwich, with a squirt of salad cream

Dinner, looking at something quick, easy and not to hard to digest, so have sort of decided on a YS small pizza picked up this morning, and because the bushes here are heaving with blackberries I will probably pick & stew some to have with a blob of ice cream

I opened the cream crackers yesterday, filled a little hole nicely, and may do same this evening

Och we are a quiet wee thread today!
Farway glad your tummy has settled:)

Son's car passed it's MOT and he's gone fishing, just catch & release so no fishy dinner tonight:(. Suspect dinner may well be something from the freezer as I CBA prepping much;). Lunch ended up being bacon & egg and lovely it was with a splash of HP:D

I have enjoyed not having to get a main meal today. I had a lovely lunch out and still feel quite full, however, I'm bound to want something to eat later. For some unknown reason when I have eaten a large lunch and dessert and feel full, I always get peckish by 8 or 9 at night. I've already defrosted a couple of crumpets for this eventuality. If they don't get eaten tonight I will always eat them tomorrow. Probably for breakfast :).

I still have one in the cupboard, a Balti one, from when I picked up two many, many months ago....

At 50p I'd have been tempted....but they really are a poor choice these days as they aren't as good as remembered.

I did, just once in Somerfield, about 15 years ago, see an FB pizza pie! I even touched the tin, saw that it had 1200 calories in it, replaced it on the shelf - and have wondered and pined about that ever since :)

I've no idea what to cook .... I newly discovered my favourite choccies when I went into the shop earlier! They'd hidden them by moving them to a shelf, higher up, with sweeties I'd not normally browse AND left them in their brown supplier cardboard box. No wonder I never spotted them after I thought they'd stopped selling them :) Guess who has some choccies in the cupboard :)

Currently tucking into one of the best taste sensations I've had since .... the other day when I had the same.

OMG these lamb/mint burgers are absolutely fabulous. I popped to L1dl to get some cheese topped rolls. I dolloped jalapeno relish on top.

Do those two go with lamb burgers? No, but when you're CFO you have to eat what you've got ... you can't simply write a menu and cook it so everything matches :)

Nom nom nom is all I can say!
