Hello folks, My neighbor wants to remove our shared chimney stack and has served us a party wall agreement. We live in 1930s terraced house. She appointed a charted surveyor for the party wall. The concern for dampness is one of my main worries and I'm thinking of using the same charted surveyor as my own, so they act for both parties.

That might increase the price for my neighbor but at least I'll have a PWS to look after my interest and ensure the work is carried out safely and is not detrimental to my property.
