    Hello 😊
    I made one many years ago and it was well loved. Are you using a pattern? I used a Vogue pattern which had an iron on transfer for the face, that really helped me as I could never be considered artistically gifted!
    I hope it goes well and that both you and your granddaughter.
    If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!! :D

    Thank you both so much for replying to my post.
    Never done one before i saw one on E bay an thought it looked lovely
    so i cut face .body arm,and legs out ,Oh my word it was a floppy doll more than anything else:rotfl:
    my 6 month old pup ran off with it whilst i was showing hubby. She loves it
    All made with an old pillow case even the stuffing i cut the rest up up an used it for the stuffing,
    So cost me nothing really pillow case was my Nains { nana}

    So today Im going to try again I am not very good but i have plenty of time
    i used to sew an embroider with my Nain and Nan
    its going to be a new hobby i hope
    and also patchwork quilt i fancy having a go at.

    Take care

    That's the sort of trick my kitten does, she will pinch anything she can carry, her fav item is knitting wool.
    Nice that you have plenty of time to craft, i am retired so do lots of crafty stuff.

    Jean Greenhowe used to design material rag doll patterns (for Woman's Weekly!) but all I can find online now are her knitting patterns.
    However, looking at the images might give you some ideas for hair, clothes etc.
    I used to make dolls years ago using Liberty print for the dresses. I also made a topsy turvy doll which was cute. All now given away!! The body and heads for that were in stockinette
