Minor rant DPD

Had a delivery from Amazon scheduled for delivery today.
DPD send me a message saying that it will probably be put on the van at usually at 11. Great i can have a lie in, i thought.
Got up at 10 to find messages saying they tried to deliver at 8:37.
Bloody annoyed as i could have been up and waiting had i thougt it would be delivered that early.

Did you not track the item, also DPD always give you an hr slot and i know our local DPD driver does not pick his van up until 8am.
Then never load at 11am

I used to drive for city link and have looked into franchises with various courier companies over the last couple of years as i enjoyed the work as no 2 days were the same

I was tracking it, i just happened to be asleep at 8:30, when i wasnt expecting it.

As i said in my op if they hadn't mentioned 11 i would have been up at 8 ready for the 1 hr delivery text

British Gas arranged to change my meter, and I asked for an afternoon appointment, so I could take a half day of holiday.
Arrived home at 12 noon, to find a card saying "you were out".
Called Customer Services to confirm that they definitely wouldn't arrive before 12 noon.
"So, how is it that . . ."
