is my tv broken?

Hello,
my tv has just gone wierd - sound is ok, no picture, just a black screen with a few coloured lines accross the top.. does this mean it is dead?

does it stay the same when you change channels?

does it stay the same when you play a video or DVD?

if so then it doesnt look good..

ok, well in that case I think it is broken then...

bummer. It cost £90 nine years ago from aldi so we have had our moneys worth really, but could do without the expense of getting a new one right now...

Have you made sure any cable going to/from tv havent fallen out of theyre respective holes or come loose,

you could try your local freecycle people give tellys away but £90 over 9 years for a telly, that must be a record.
