Scam british gas bill

Just received our British Gas bill on line - looked perfectly fine until Mr S clicked on the bill and Windows 10 Defender blew a great big raspberry.
Went back into the e-mail - and it started off 'Dear Valued Customer'. Gah !
There were other links re the alleged 'increase in your monthly payment' so I'm guessing that would have lead to a request to 'confirm your bank details'. We would have smelt a rat at that point - but anyone with a less than effective virus blocker could have been caught out.
