Problem Porting Landline Number From Sky To EE

  • An update on this. Ombudsman has completed the investigation and concluded that the number is no longer active and therefore nothing more can be done.

However, Ombudsman recognised that I have given EE sufficient time before the number was deactivated to port it over from Sky, which they did not do. And I have made it very clear to both EE and Sky my intention to port the number over. Ombudsman has therefore recommend EE to send me an apology letter along with £30 as a gesture of goodwill for its shortfalls in customer service.

Not exactly the outcome I want but I don't think it can be pursuit further so I have agreed with the recommendation.

I think the moral of the story is that make sure the new landline provider is able to port the number from the old provider BEFORE the number is deactivated.

The lesson here is always start with a BT number, because some companies are clueless about dealing with any other type.
