I am going to be in London for a short stay next week. Can you still buy a 3 day pass for the underground? Should I buy an oyster card?

we've just been to london and used the underground. We paid 12.40 for a day pass ( valid for 24 hours ) that was for two adults and 2 children.0

You can still buy a 3 day pass - but if you are travelling only off-peak, 3 one day passes are cheaper.
Oyster PAYG is a little cheaper than one day passes (by 50p a day) but is a bit of a faff for a one off. You pay a £3 deposit and get it back with any unspent money when you leave0 -

Many thanks for reply.
Do you know the cost of a one day pass and the cost of the 3 day off-peak pass?0 -
The london transport website is pretty good and can tell you pretty much everything you need to know. Here are all the ticket prices: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/faresandtickets/oneand3daytickets/2911.aspx
I'm guessing you're staying within zones 1&2 so you'd be looking at the top line.0 -
Can someone confirm when the off peak times are. Are they after 9.30am each week day, and all weekend?0

Yes.

Although I don't live in London, I have an Oystercard which I use when I visit the place - it saves on bus fares (I don't use the tube) as each single fare is 90p as opposed to £2! this applies to all zones. Plus it beats having to carry money around.0
