Final value fee return when non payment - question

Options
I sold an item to someone on ebay and they then emailed me to sayt they no longer wanted it. (typical). So I said they could pay my fees (£10 ish) or have a strike put against them. They opted for the strike

Now there is an option for "both agreed not to do sale" or similar. If I chose this will I get my refund? If not will have to go for other option.

Thanks.

no no no don't do that, don't do a mutual!

if the buyer lies and says they have paid or intend to pay you won't get your fees back

go for the other option, can't remember what it's called but i'm sure someone else will be along who will know

    They responded with this:

    "
i advised the seller i no longer wanted the item due to something similair being purchased as a birthday present, the seller was ok with this and was going to ebay to request a payment strike, i said this was fine."Now what? :(

Guess they have now admitted that they have no intention of paying? So mutual should be ok?

No mutual. If you mutual, they DON'T get a strike.

Escalate as soon as it allows you.

If they've answered the dispute you can then close it, you get taken to a page with three options, (unluckily I had one I could go to!)

    Dispute closure
    1) We've completed the transaction and we're both satisfied.s.gifNo Final Value Fee credit will be given and the buyer will not get an Unpaid Item strike.

s.gif2) I feel I have no other option but to end communication with the buyer. (Available on the 8th day after dispute is filed or once the buyer responds)s.gif
You'll get a Final Value Fee credit and the buyer will get an Unpaid Item strike.

s.gif3) We've agreed not to complete the transaction or the buyer is returning the item. s.gifIf the buyer informs eBay that they agreed, you will receive a Final Value Fee credit and the buyer will not receive an Unpaid Item strike.
If the buyer informs eBay that they did not agree, you will not receive a Final Value Fee credit and the buyer will not receive an Unpaid Item strike. You need to wait up to 7 additional days to be eligible for a Final Value Fee credit.

    s.gifs.gif

In this case you should select the middle one, as if you choose the third option the buyer still gets a chance to say no (even if they do it in error you don't get a fvf refund)

Thanks - that is the option I opted for in the end.
