I'm about to get a flag put on my credit file for catalogue fraud . Will my car insurance be cancelled and could I get car insurance anywhere. Please help as need car for work

You need to refer to the terms and conditions of your car insurance policy to see if this needs to be disclosed mid term.
If in doubt, advise them and let them make a decision accordingly.

You may as well admit it to them now, before they potentially find out after an accident and revoke cover.

Yes you will struggle with insurance, and many other financial products in the future, if you have a fraud marker against your name.

As above, it's better to be on the front foot and honest and volunteering this information, rather than them finding out retrospectively and applying measures then.

Regarding your non insurance question, I can't offer an opinion or advice in this respect.

Cifas markers last on your credit file for 6 years. In my *opinion* it probably will not effect your existing credit. But will seriously dampen your chances to get further credit for the next 6 years.
