Dual band repeater/range extender

Just had to switch to a new router which is 5GHz, but now my wireless printer won't talk to it because that's on 2.4GHz.

If I buy a dual band extender will the printer just know to accept the printing from the 2.4GHz, or will I have to print in a different way?

I've never seen a router that is 5GHz only, if it isn't dual band there will be an option to switch between 2.4 or 5 GHz. That may be an easy solution if you're happy with using 2.4 for everything.

Otherwise yes, the extender will join up the two networks. If the SSID or key is different you'll need to set the printer up to use the new network but that's all. Keep both the same and it should just work.
  • Right, I'm in the settings (it's a Sky Q hub), and it seems it IS dual band and the 2.4 and the 5 are synchronised, but still my printer doesn't work.

    Anyone any ideas?
