Carpet fitter cost?

We are renovating and extending a cottage with a view to rent out. The carpet we want is considerably cheaper if bought on-line unfitted. The rooms are all newly floored and there is one new curving staircase. Roughly how much should a carpet fitter charge per sq m?

  • I have found labour costs vary a lot depending on location.

Had a local carpet fitter (family firm) west London cost £78.50 p/h
Similar job done in Kent was £ 49.00 p/h

To be honest i would not buy carpets online as i have found defects in the ones i online purchased a few years ago and guess who had to pursue the online company, yes little me.Complete nightmare

We're having new carpets shortly. £50 for hall, £50 for living room. Could be a discount if it doesn't take them long, apparently.

Allow £50 to £60 per room.. £100 for stairs and you will get change.
