Golden Paste for cats?

Hi, has anybody given the turmeric supplement to their cat?
I've read it s good for dogs, humans and some extent cats but some studies show coconut oil is not good for them.
I've seen one made with flax seed oil which I'm tempted to try for my fourteen and a half year old Maine coon who is getting slow and stiff.

I'm reluctant to take him to the vets as they want to do full bloodsnwhich I said very distressing for him being taken from the jugular.
I know he has reached a good age especially for his large breed type.
