Advice on USA car hire

Options
Economy car hire is included in my holiday booking to the USA.

It comes with "Basic" package which does not include Collision Damage Waiver, Liability Cover, uninsured Driver Protection and I have to pay at collection for local taxes, operating fee and a tank of petrol (I don't need additional drivers)

To add these through my booking will cost £316

I'm like... wow! As on top of this I need to buy the excess insurance as well.

What is the best options for me please?

Do I get the CDW and Libaility cover separately from a comparison site plus the excess insurance and just pay the petrol and taxes at the desk (no ideas on what they will cost)....

or is £316 a good price considering it includes everything but the petrol and excess insurance

Pleas help as this is a minefield
