James Capel Unit Trust Management Ltd

I have found a certificate for the James Capel Singapore and Malaysia Growth Fund, dated 22 April 99, amongst my late father's papers. It appears that James Capel become first HSBC and then Tuodeknoc (HIUK) Limited, which was dissolved in 2009. Is there any way I can find out whether this certificate is still valid and, if so, how to encash it?

Is there an ISIN code on the certificate? Any phone number you could ring that might take you to the registrars?
  • Yes my certificate does give the Trustee as the Bank of Scotland
  • Sorry for the delay. I'm afraid there is no ISIN number or telephone number.

James Capel apparently became HSBC Asset Management so I would write to them with the death certificate and ask if your father had any accounts with them.

I would say the chances are very high that the fund was merged into another and paid out years ago.

I also have a certificate for this. Did your search get you anywhere? I have approached HSBC but not heard back from them.....

What are the chances?! Three brand new members with extremely old certificates for this obscure fund from 1999!

    Good luck
