Happened to me with the current [STRIKE]Renault[/STRIKE] Nissan.

I went to see it unannounced, and all the tyres were blown up when it was on the bombsite. Did the deal and arranged to pick it up when it had a full MOT.

Got it home and next morning two wheels were on the rim, and a good inspection showed nails in 3 tyres.

I reckon when they sent "the boy" down the road for the MOT he drove past a building site or followed a builders transit pickup on the way back.

I just had to suck it up and cross that dealer off the Christmas card list, as they no doubt would swear blind that I'd done it. Hardly likely as round here if you look up from the road for an instant you would rip at least one wheel off on a pothole, or take the sump out on a hump, I'm sure I'd notice a bag of nails spread over the road.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

to be fair, it's possible the dealer knew there was a slow leak on that tyre. and in order to reduce their costs deciced to inflate the tyre up just before viewings.

but its impossible to prove this unless you have secret camera footage of them pumping the tyres moments before you arriving for a test drive.

since this is a wear and tear item that requres regular changes it would be impossible for you to get them to cough up with the exchange. a tyre doesnt cost much - get it changed or repaired.
