Shared Ownership Staircasing - Multiple Valuations

Hi all, wondering whether someone can advise me on the feasibility of something I'm looking into. I've owned a shared ownership flat 50% for two years and am now looking into staircasing, which requires a RICS valuation.
The housing association owning the other 50% have provided a list of approved valuers to choose from and I was wondering whether it's possible to get valuations from all of them and provide the 'best' to the housing association? Or does one have to choose one and they supply the valuation to the association directly?

Have you asked the HA? Ours only pays for 1 valuation then I think we have to pay if we want a second opinion.

refer to your lease in particular Staircasing Provisions, rather than what the HA says. Usually it says you can use any RICS valuer (not necessarily from the HAs list). It usually says the landlord must instruct them but I can't see there's anything stopping you getting a few carried out and then getting the landlord to instruct the one you'd prefer. You're likely to spend a whack on fees but could be worthwhile as they often vary £5 - £10k, especially if there's no recent sale comparable that the surveyor is likely to reference.
