I wouldn't rush into buying big things.
Have you loo paper, lightbulbs, candles and matches?0 -
Agree with Small, don't rush into buying things, especially cheap crap from Ikea. Choose to invest in decent furniture, it will improve the look of your new property no end. It may take a bit more time, but worth it in the long run.
Also, good call from hazyjo, Wilko's have some great things, yes, Wilko isn't as "cool" Ikea, but much better quality. Having bought a fair few things in the past from Ikea, I'd advise against it unless on a tight budget. Also, a good shout is TK Maxx home, they do some nice things too surprisingly!

Have you got any paper light shades?
You can choose nice ones down the line. But I hate the bare bulb look. So when I know I'm. Moving if I can find any 50p or super cheap paper shades I get a few in for at least the front room and bedroom. To be fair in the bedroom I still have a purple floral one as it ties with the with decor in this rented house. Not worth buying one that goes here as I'm saving to buy.
A bin and a roll of bin bags. Nothing worse then that horrid stack of tea bags that someone will leave in the corner of the kitchen sink when making cups of tea for people helping you move.
Don't underestimate the rubbish thing. There is a chance as they leave the house they'll fill the bin. They'll find all those broken hangers use a load of cleaning products (hopefully) empty the kitchen bin chuck the toilet brush etc. Keep the 'clean' stuff separate. Because you could for a week store the clean cardboard etc. But the pizza crusts and teabags don't want to be soaking into the nice carpet or smelling out the house. They may not. Or they may leave in bin day etc. But it's a possibility.
A bath mat. Hate getting wet socks or tights when I pop back To the bathroom when getting ready for work.
Teatowls and washed bedding. Last time we moved. I loved my sister as after she and her partner had built the bed she made them both for me. They looked nicer but also when it came to bedtime I could just collapse.
A bedside lamp. So when you collapse in the bed you can have the lmao on and not have to move to turn off the light.
