Renting or selling parental home

I am currently clearing out my parents' house. We planned to rent it out (being quoted to get between £1000 - 1200 a month not including letting fees), but I wondered if it may be a better option to sell the house and invest the money in a high interest account - as the lump sum would not be needed for a while. The house has been valued roughly as £400-425K if we sold it. Does anyone have any advice on whether renting or selling would be the better option? And if selling is the better option, any ideas on where to invest the money?
