Helping with old MBNA credit card PPI

Hi, a little back story.... my mum and dad split around 19 years ago. My mum has let me know tonight that my dad may be due to PPI back from an old MBNA credit card which was in his name. We don't know the exact date etc, would it still be worth while him looking into this? My mum has stated that he was advised to take PPI to cover him if he became unemployed. I will have to help him go through the forms etc but don't want to waste his time and get his hopes up!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

After 19 years, it would almost certainly be a waste of time.0
