Gas CH boiler in bedroom?

  • Thanks Canucklehead, it's good to know that my boiler should be pretty safe, and the landlord gets it inspected/serviced yearly. The room sealed type boilers seem inherently much safer compared to the open type of boiler.

my gch boiler is in a cupboard in my bedroom - there wasn't really anywhere to put it in the kitchen. Causes no probs. I don't have the timer set on it but i can imagine it would wake you of a morning when it's firing up. If im in the bedroom and its on I can hear it but only ever so slightly.

Our boiler is in my daughters room. It is boxed in and we have a Carbon monoxide alarm fitted.

My dd has had it in her room since we moved in when she was 2 so has got used to the low humming noise it makes.

We just make sure that the heating is switched off by 9pm and no-one uses the hot tap after that time so not to disturb her.

our combi was fitted in a spare/guest bedroom cupboard just 2 yrs ago. (corgi fitter).
its room sealed as are most gas boilers these days.
we have kept the air brick open, and we have a detector just in case.
    Get some gorm.
