You've not had the exhaust fitted yet though have you? It might be a poorly made pattern part that won't fit properly without knocking on the underside of your car or blowing. The old exhaust might have rusted on bolts which may need specialist equipment to get off.
At least if you took it to a garage and got them to supply and fit the part, all the above would be their problem.0 -
The exhaust is of high quality and a well known make, as verified by reputation and the mechanic.
The mechanic has inspected and aligned the system and sees no obvious problems.0 -

All good then, and rather renders this thread pointless.
I'm out, it's exhausting dealing with topics like this.0 -

I entirely agree.
I gained the information that I needed early in the thread.
I will also stop following the thread.0 -
The last time I took my car in to an exhaust place they removed my exhaust and replaced it with one which wasn't designed for my car. They bent it to fit. It was much smaller bore than my exhaust. They hung the pipe on one mounting instead of the original five. I ended up driving away with no exhaust and then fitting my own. I have fitted my own ever since. Buying your own off ebay means you can be sure of the quality before it is fitted. A garage will make more profit by fitting a cheap exhaust. Poor quality means you will be back for a new one sooner. Employing a mobile mechanic means less overheads and you know who has done the job if there is a problem. Obviously DIY is always best but if you can't mobile mechanic is next best IMO.0
