BT - can you divert calls and avoid charges?

Hi all

We are with BT for our phone and I wondered if there is anyway to divert calls from our landline to my mobile without having to pay them each month? I think it is about £4 or £5 a month to have this service.

Thanks
I've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.

Set up an 0870 number that forwards calls onwards to your mobile number.

On the understanding that you have the BT "Unlimited Anytime" call plan with inclusive calls to 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 numbers, simply set up the BT divert so that incoming calls to your landline are diverted to the 0870 number.

BT will pay the Service Charge for the 0870 number without charging you. The Service Charge pays the 0870 provider for forwarding calls to another number, in this case, your mobile number.

Instead of an 0870 number it may also be possible to do this with an 0845 number in much the same way.

Thank you - I will double check with BT that calls to my line can be diverted to an 0870 for free. Would this mean a person calling would be paying more to make the call?

    Thanks again!

They are saying I can set up call divert and it is £4.50 a month. Hrmph!

Calls are charged to the caller at the rate applicable to the number the caller dialled. Where the call is routed after that, is irrelevant to the caller and has no effect on what the caller pays for the call.
