So does your final reading agree with the final reading on this bill?

If you used the electricity, why do you think that you should not pay for what you have used?

There is no final reading on this bill its just an amount, and i don't have the final readings anymore as it was 18 months ago.

Unfortunately just because you were paying by monthly DD, it doesn't mean that you were paying enough to cover your actual usage. If you no longer have your final reading, it will be difficult to dispute this bill. If it has been put in the hands of a debt collector, they must be sure that you owe this amount, so ask for bills with readings, payments on.

    Hi,

Don't go to CAB, you are not near having a complaint right now until you can see where the debt has come from so you would just be wasting your time with them.

Most Suppliers probably don't transfer debt from one account to another like that as it becomes problematic to manage in some scenarios.

Do you have a final bill from them from back in 2006? If so can you see the money they are quoting? If not then where has this mystery amount come from?

You have to pay for what you used and if you didn't send them a reading when you moved out, you will have to live with an estimate as long as it seems reasonable.

I don't think anyone can help you until you can find what the amount applies to. Your Supplier can put the debt on hold but you need to discuss why they seem to be stating you have unpaid debt when you reckon you paid the final bill.
