But S75 of The Consumer Credit Act (and that MSE article) effectively say that if one has a valid claim against a seller one also has exactly the same claim against the credit provider.

Thus if it is deemed that the seller must allow a cancellation and provide a refund, then the consumer can look towards the credit card provider for that refund.

But it doesn't appear to be a non eligible situation
If the buyer is entitled to cancel the contract because the tickets purchased were not for a specific time or date (and the tickets in question have a one year validity) then they are legally allowed to cancel and obtain a full refund and if this request is refused then there is a breach of the buyer's statutory rights.

Attraction Tickets Direct act as a broker as per their T & C's this will complicate any Section 75 claim.

Who was the deposit paid to? If it was paid to ATD then I'd argue that there's a direct relationship per S75 requirements. ATD aren't a payment portal like Paypal.
