mirroring dell laptop (win10) to firestick

Anyone had any luck mirroring a dell laptop to the firestick (miracast)? it supports widi, shows the firestick in the available sources. Firestick shows "Connecting (laptop name)" then after a short while the firestick shows and exiting message. firestick works fine for my android devices, just not my windows laptop. Dont want to use chrome cast etc as its an extended desktop I am after not a mirrored one.
