PCN received but with incorrect registration

Hi there
Just need some advice really…..I had a PCN back in April 2016 to which I did try and pay when I couldn’t pay because the ticket had been written out incorrectly with the wrong car registration so I sent a written (Typed letter) to say that the ticket had an incorrect registration (I didn’t say who was driving just that I as the legal owner of the car tried to pay it) and couldn’t and that they should rescind the ticket because of this…they replied with a letter and a photograph of my car with the correct registration….this does not match the PCN Ticket apologising for the error and some bilge about it doesn’t absolve me of my responsibility (whatever that means) but basically saying hard luck pay up (see attached)…..nearly a year later and I’ve received a Solicitors letter (from Everyones favorite) again basically telling me to pay up or their will be more costs etc. I have all the documents in pdf or jpeg format which I can PM someone if that's possible other than that what do you think I should do your advice would be greatly appreciated

it may well be a DCA letetr , in which case , IGNORE it
if its actually from a solicitor (and not a DCA demand on letter headed "SOLICITOR" notepaper) , send them an LBC reply
the NEWBIES sticky thread deals with all of this
and you can check letter types on the BMPA ZENDESK site quite easily
the DCA letters are typically from DRP or ZZPS , sometimes on Gladstones or WH letterheaded notepaper
if its the latter , we dont want to know and basically none of us care because its been posted thousands of times before
if its an actual LBC or an MCOL , then we do care and will help if we can0 -
it says in large letters across the letter at the heading "LETTER BEFORE CLAIM" and says I should pay Gladstones0
-
in that case, treat it as an LBC and reply (not that Gladstones will read the reply and not that they will take any notice or care about its content)
G`s are going through the motions prior to a court claim (MCOL)
you should do the same , and keep copies and proof of posting from the PO Counter
assume an MCOL will come by post before the end of July0 -
not sure what all that meant but will do.....how should I reply....should I list out my defense.....is there an MSE Template letter to follow0
-
please read the NEWBIES sticky thread near the top of this forum , its the starting point for everyone and includes explanations for acronyms too
once they issue a court claim, you will be aware of what all this means, so read some of parking pranksters blogs too, so you get up to speed
dont bother with MSE anything , only stuff linked from the NEWBIES sticky thread
your "defence" will come AFTER they issue an MCOL, not before0
