Town & Country Building Society PPI claim

My mortgage was initially with the Town & Country Building Society, who were taken over by the Woolwich who were taken over by Barclays…!
If I make a PPI claim to Barclays will they have any information on the history of my mortgage..?.
If I was miss-sold by either of the other companies would Barclays be legally obliged to pay out..?

The Town and Country BS merged with the Woolwich BS in 1992. That was 25 years ago, although clearly you must have initially taken out the mortgage some time before 1992.

No one call tell you whether or not Barclays are in possession of any records of what insurance products you might or might not have purchased all those years ago.

Do you have any evidence that you did indeed purchase mortgage PPI? Or are you just hoping that you did and Barclays have some records?
