Appealing to the European Court of Human Rights - Permission to appeal letter needed?

When a case has gone to the High court, and lost, (and cannot be applied to the Supreme court, because the case does not follow the jurisdiction to apply to the next Supreme court (which the supreme court has mentioned)

So as all avenues in the UK to appeal have been used/ exhausted
(there is no other appeal avenue in the UK available)
then an application to the European Court of Human Rights can be made.

The questions
Does permission need to be granted by the high court to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights?

by the form of a letter, from the High court clerk?


or is any other written document need to be obtained from the high court, (which you send along side your appeal to the European Court ?

1) I am struggling to think of a consumer rights issue that falls under the remit of a human rights court.

2) If considering appealing to a human rights court, then it may be sensible to seek legal advice, rather than advice from random people on the internet.

As keith suggests, this is definitely something that you should be discussing with your legal representatives.

You seem to have been fighting legal battles (and presumably losing some if not all of them) for several years now, you might want to think about whether this is now the time to call it a day.
