Nikon Coolpix 4800 or Olympus C-765

Options
Hi people,

I need your help, last year my girlfriend got me a lovely Fuji digital camera that had no optical zoom. I've had a fun time practising my camera skills but I now feel the need for a digital camera with a good optical zoom, about 4 megapixels and small size so it can fit in jeans pocket or her handbag.

I think I have narrowed the choice to the two in the title. Does anyone have experience of these and best prices? Nikon I have found for £179.99 https://www.equipmentexpress.co.uk and Olympus £189.99 https://www.amazon.co.uk.

Or can people think of a camera that would be good?

Me and the girlfriend are going to Wimbledon for the tennis, an Oasis concert, two weddings and New York for a holiday so the camera will get good use.

Thank you all for your time

    Hi,
I've got the now obsolete Nikon 3100 which is very good and has been a Which best buy---irrelavent now of course but Boots have some good offers on Nikons including this one:
    http://www.boots.com/shop/product_details.jsp?productid=1056013&classificationid=1030110&wblinktype=PL&wblinkdetail=position4

The link should take you to a Nikon 5200 5.1mp offered at £100.10.

You may need to register for an e-mail as they are waiting for stock.

    Hope this helps.

I've got an Olympus C750. 10x optical zoom and 4x digital. Great camera, takes really good pictures and I'm no expert photographer, more a snapper really. I was in Egypt earlier this year and on return downloaded the pictures and didn't have to play about with any software to make changes - they all came out incredibly well - even the ones in the bar! However, I wouldn't think it will fit easily into your pocket - the optical zoom makes it a bit deeper than some. The case will fit onto a belt though, and the camera is reasonably light. If you want to, you can add a further 7x zoom lens as an attachment - even more bulk but great fun. Hope you get what you want.
