E.ON Tarrifs

Hi all,

I just moved into a property which is currently using eon, I've put meter readings onto the website, I have never done this before, and I'm confused to which tarriff is best for me; they're all in the same price range.

They offer
E.ON Cap and Track 1
E.ON Saver Fixed 1 v11
E.ON EnergyPlan

Hello tonylfc5 and welcome to the Forums. Welcome also to E.ON.

Energy Plan is our standard variable tariff and is more expensive than the others you mention. The Saver Fixed 1 Year version 11 tariff guarantees the unit prices and daily standing charges won't change for the duration of the contract. It does, though, have exit fees of £30 per fuel for changing supplier outside of the renewal period. It's only available to customers paying with a Monthly Direct Debit.

Cap and Track is a bit different from the tariffs we've offered before. It's a fixed tariff guaranteeing prices won't increase above set levels like the Saver Fix above. Prices, though, could come down. What we do is track the market and review prices every 3 months. If the average price has gone down, we'll lower the unit rates. They could also go up but will never go above the original quoted price for the duration of the contract. At the moment, it's only available to Dual Fuel customers who pay with a Monthly Direct Debit.

I know you've only just moved in but if you've an idea of what energy you might use annually, pop these details on the independent price comparison sites. These will list out options both with us and with the other suppliers. If you're unsure, use industry averages. This will give you a fuller picture of what's available.

Just a quick heads up and sorry if you've already done this. Have you given us details of your move so we can set up an account from the time you took over responsibility? If not, there's a form you can use on our website to let us know. Alternatively, please contact our Home Moves team and they'll sort this for you. Contact details are on our website. There's also a Home Moves Live Chat team, again available through our website.

Hope this helps tonylfc5. Let me know if you need any more information as happy to help. Also hope the move went well and you're now settled in your new home.

As Malc has generously hinted at, you have the whole market to choose from-why are you only considering E.On? Once you register with them for a supply, you are free to switch.
If the fix and the cap are similar in price to the SVT, then they are not competitive.
I would go back to E.On tomorrow if they came up with a competitive fix.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Hello tonylfc5 and that's right. Paying with a Monthly Direct Debit means lower daily standing charges on all our credit meter tariffs.

As I mentioned yesterday, customers going on to the Fixed 1 Year version 11 need to pay by Monthly Direct Debit. This tariff isn't available for other payment methods.

We do have tariffs with other payment options like the Fixed 1 Year version 22 and the Fixed 2 Year version 11. These will have higher daily standing charges if paying by means other than a Monthly Direct Debit.

You're doing the right thing in using the independent price comparison sites. As both macman and I have said, these will give you a much fuller picture of the options open to you.

Hope this is of interest tonylfc5.
